One Two Three Four
Kevin likes Quiet Time in his garage. We can relate - far from the Madding Crowd... tucked away, out of sight, listening to the radio, grinding fiberglass, sticky with epoxy and fillers, sensless from fumes. Sure...we can relate.

Kevin asked us to look at the transom, which is to hold a brand new 175hp Susuki, and weigh the options for making sure it was 110% sound. We drilled some exploratory borings, and determined that the best fix, for this project, would be to remove the water-soaked plywood core and replace it with new.

We both read up on the Gougeon FIBERGLASS BOAT REPAIR & MAINTENANCE MANUAL that describes this process beautifully. We cut out the center transom piece, laid out some tools and Kevin went to work. He did a great job removing the core, and brought the boat to Wise Marine for us to do the larger plywood lamination and fiberglassing, and took the boat back to his garage to commune with nature, epoxy, polyester, fiberglass, grinding discs and sandpaper.

The rest, as they say, Is History...combined, of course, with a health dose of sticking with it, and total support from the First Mate! Congrats, Kevin!

This is one sharp Mako!
